"To Mantle the Rising Sun" is the second album by Melodic Black Metal band Malist, on which the artist continues the musical journey started on last year's debut with even more genre-crossing ambition, drawing inspiration from bands like Lord Belial, Immortal, Sargeist, Fen & Woods of Desolation.
Powerful riffs, melodic layering, diverse vocals & atmospheric elements are woven into this musical venture of battles & mournful fates, sending the listener to the outer surface of the underground Karst Realm, where the lyrical hero is on his way to meet the tyrant King - an encounter to set his life's purpose once and for all...
Earthshine was formed in 2015 by the brothers Sam and Connor Dwyer from Australia who wanted to make something they could both work on, discuss and get excited about while not living close to each other (Sam living in Japan, Connor in Australia). Their debut album was released by Northern Silence in 2016.
The second album, ‘My Bones Shall Rest Upon the Mountain’, is heavily influenced by Sam's experiences in Japan, especially the extremely snowy and cold winters, which were shocking compared with the winters he’d experienced in Australia. During the time between this album and the debut, Connor became much more influenced by Psychedelic music while Sam continued listening to Black Metal. The new album is still focused on a sorrowful Doom sound, but with more Black Metal and atmospheric influences.
This album was recorded with a seven string guitar and a range of guitar pedals Sam was able to pick up in Japan. In the brothers' opinion the new songs are better in every regard, and the music sounds more sorrowful and heavy. Nature and the harshness of life influenced both the music and lyrics for this album.
Collector's Edition in 4-panel Digipack, incl. bonus track, limited to 300 copies.

Urda Sot is an Atmospheric Black Metal project from Saxony in Germany. Conceptually inspired by nature with its swamps, bogs, forests and the old gods, the music itself is influenced by Black Metal, Dark Ambient and Nordic Folk. With ritual drums, wide soundscapes, extensive melody lines and distant screams, Urda Sot create a thick, misty atmosphere that draws the soul of the listener into the heart of a primal swamp.
Gateway to Selfdestruction is an Atmospheric Black Metal band from Germany, formed in 2013. Their debut album „Death, My Salvation“, released by Northern Silence in 2016, marked the beginning of the band’s musical output. At the time they had already been active on the live front for quite a while, captivating the audience with their sorrowful and haunting creations. The style was very much influenced by Katatonia’s “Brave Murder Day”, so signing the band was a foregone conclusion when the individual behind Northern Silence witnessed one of their fantastic live performances for the first time.
In November 2019 the band entered the studio to record their second album, entitled „Sanctus : Mater : Scortum“. It was once again produced by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony and will be released on CD and digitally on February 21st.
The concept behind the album delves into the power struggle between the child and the motherly, pathologic presence of a woman suffering from mental illness, whose self-destructive behavior is expressed through child abuse, perversions and prostitution in both obvious and hidden ways. The conceptual layout of the CD shows her pathology and the different roles she is driven to play in her life – the loving mother to the casual observer, the whore in secret, the Madonna as the highest aspiration which she struggles to reclaim.
Musically, Gateway to Selfdestruction went from the Depressive Black Metal with atmospheric Doom influences of earlier days to a more Progressive Extreme Metal sound with extensive use of clean guitars, guitar solos, different vocal styles, clean vocals, choirs and extreme screams. Influences range from old Katatonia to more contemporary acts such as Shining, Woods of Desolation, Ghost Brigade and Antimatter.
SEDER is the manifestation of the One through the accumulative infinite and birthed to consciousness and to material by Gurthang. This output is predicated on the eternal seeking of cosmic knowledge, oneness with nature and oneness with eternity.
Founded in 2012, a time when Gurthang was already active in the project ANCALAGON, and after some previous iterations of manifestations featuring Gurthang as the sole artist, the Sunbled album was recorded in 2016.
The music on SEDER's debut album could most appropriately be described as Cascadian Black Metal, and is recommended for fans of Wolves In The Throne Room, Fauna, Skagos and similar acts.
SEDER continues to be written and recorded in solitude, ever progressing toward a still more glorious dawn and cosmic-consciousness.
SEDER is a part of the One void collective, in eternal cosmic ceremony.

The new album shows Nasheim from a more matured and contemplative side. The harsh Black Metal outbreaks are not altogether gone but they do leave more room for quieter parts where violin, cello and even the occasional clean vocals are allowed to take center stage. Still, the music is immediately recognizable as Nasheim, so unique has the sound become at the very least since "Solens Vemod".

Third full-length album from one-man Scottish Atmospheric Celtic Metal
project Saor.
Recorded over two years in Cairndow and the Isle of Skye, the new release contains five majestic new tracks
with a playing time of just under an hour. Musically it carries on where "Aura" left off, weaving together
intelligently-crafted guitar riffs, soaring folk melodies and stirring string sections, taking you on a journey
throughout the majestic, mist-covered Highland landscapes.
As well as being inspired by nature, the album takes influence from various traditional Scottish poems
which cover a range of themes such as ancient battles, cultural heritage and sorrow.
Australia's Earthshine are another brilliant newcomer to the realm that can be roughly circumscribed as Atmospheric Black Metal, a subgenre that has existed since the 90s and seen tremendous growth in the last few years. As a matter of fact, Earthshine's music has that distinctive mid-90s vibe to it, as if the album was recorded 20 years ago and has remained a well-kept secret until now. In fact, when we first heard it, it reminded us of Tumulus' great "Hymns and Dirges" demo from 1994 as well as some Death/Doom classics from that era. Thankfully, the album is of newer vintage (recorded during 2014/15) and the band is already working on the next one.
