Wolfspell

Six tracks of black metal bookended by two ambient tracks. The inner tracks are often performed by a quite energetic lo-fi and atmospheric mixture, able to deliver more than enough aggression while keeping enough softness and harmonies. A good start from a project that has more to offer and grow, but already presenting some memorable output.

This is the first part of the Nostalgia series, songs that do not follow the usual sound of Kalmankantaja, but rather emulate some of my early influences and favorite albums. I don't claim to be original, nor would I want it. These recordings are my tribute to the music that inspired me years ago, and continue to do so.

Surun Syntysija was created in December 2020-February 2021 at Patologian Laboratorio.

This is the third part of the Nostalgia series. These songs are made in the same kind of mood I had when creating Muinainen and Musta Lampi, just lingering melancholy and sorrowful tales connected to nature and personal loss. Slow and midtempo songs will always be a part of what created the sound of Kalmankantaja.
