The startling 1996 debut album of dark atmospheric Black Metal from Katatonia mastermind Anders 'Blackheim' Nyström.
“A work of considerable depth and power.” - Metal Archives
Ravendusk In My Heart combines fantastic imagery, which work alongside accomplished atmospherics mixed with cold Black Metal (bringing to mind the early works of Emperor).
The album was recorded at the famous Unisound Studio in September 1995, produced by Dan Swanö and Blackheim, and mixed by Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, and Marduk).
Fourth and last album, this is Emperor´s swansong. The band left the death metal field for a more symphonic and metal opus.
Giving a follow up to a masterpiece like Black shining leatherà was hard, but C.F. confirms their unique class in creating a waird opus like this, true Black Metal.
Writhing woe upon a rotting mass of murderous rats comes forth Ecuador’s Wampyric Rites with its latest unholy resurrection of melodic black metal malfeasance, Under the Tragic Fullmoon of the Vampire, a full throttle incantation featuring some of the greatest spells of audial sanguine slaughter to date. Writ mostly in the home tongue of Wampyric Rites, Under the Tragic Fullmoon of the Vampire, presents a truly matured and eldritch exercise of black metal mutiilation; one slaked in infested tremolo melodies, howling oratory necromancy, dark gothic poetics and the same epic alchemical composition this entity is now infamous for. Wrought from spirals of diseased rat tails entwined, Under the Tragic Fullmoon of the Vampire, only proves the unwavering mastery of sonic hypnosis Wampyric Rites have staked their bloodstained moniker upon time and time again. A must have for any acolyte craving the melancholic bloodlust of the perditious.

35 years after their inception Nittedal-based TULUS are still going strong and return with a new album. Only three years after its predecessor, the notorious three-piece is back with their eight full-length entitled Morbid Desires which Darkness Shall Rise are very proud to be releasing.
Instead of straying from their path, Morbid Desires comprises nine tracks that continue the trademark TULUS sound. An abundance of hellishly catchy riffs moulded into concise mid-tempo songs performed by proficient musicians accompanied by Blodstrup’s grim vocals are still the main characteristics of TULUS. Having said that, Morbid Desires is by no means a one-dimensional album. Fast parts, beautifully chanted vocals, flamenco and acoustic guitars etc. woven into some of the songs provide the album with plenty of variety. “Sabbat”, the album’s closer and by far the longest track surely sticks out the most. Undeniably conceived as a tribute to BLACK SABBATH the song is nothing short of amazing and impressively proves the outstanding musicianship of TULUS’ members.
Morbid Desires was recorded, mixed and mastered by Andy La Rocque at Sonic Train Studios, Sweden. September 2025.

Produced by frontman Ken Sorceron and mixed by renowned engineer Dave Otero (Aborted, Akhlys), "A Void Within Existence" is a scorched offering of black metal transcendence: harrowing, cinematic, and utterly uncompromising. Drums are performed by the virtuosic Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Ghost Bath), whose work here blurs the line between precision and chaos. The record is accompanied by striking cover art from Eliran Kantor (Testament, Bloodbath), whose visual interpretation mirrors the inner desolation and mythic scope of the music. Line-up: Ken Sorceron (ex-Aborted, ex-The Faceless, Vale Of Pnath) - vocals, guitars. Vance Valenzuela (Vale Of Pnath) - guitars. John Porada (ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolvhammer) - bass. Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Ghost Bath) - drums.
