KAWIR formed in the Greek black metal scene of the 90s and have been exploring Greek mythology, literature, and mysteries for 30 years - and no other band really captures the essence of those stories and times the same way.
With ‘Kydoimos’ KAWIR has reached an ambitious point they've been working towards for a couple of records now.
An essential album for fans of Rotting Christ, Necromantia, Varathron, etc!
Anthesis is a groundbreaking new album from Australia's @suldusk444 formerly a one woman project and now a full band. Mixed by Troy Mccosker (Ne Obliviscaris) and mastered by Thomas Johansson (Soilwork), Anthesis is a true game changer for the heavy genre, blurring lines and dissolving the boundaries of heavy music as we know it today. A synthesis of dark folk and a myriad of heavy genres, Anthesis creates a resonance which alights both the shimmers and the shadows from the deepest woodlands.
This EP of dark majesty and melancholy is a journey through time and nightside dimensions. The Black Metal flame of "Violet Mercury" sets the world ablaze as the haunting synth-scapes of "Moonlit Sorcery" create waves of nostalgia from kingdoms forgotten by all but a few.
Evergarden is the duo of Kyle Palmanteer and Nate Mast, plus the great help of vocalist Justin Gregorio (courtesy of Gloomchild). The band fuses much of the atmospheric and ambient stylings of modern blackgaze bands, such as Deafheaven, Lantlôs, Olhava, etc., but with a much stronger emphasis on their post-hardcore influences.
All of which shines in the four monumental songs of debut album "In Light". Songs that form a flux of feral and raw emotions, floating seamlessly through utter despair and ecstatic beauty.
By command of the Hermetic Order of Ytene, "Nova Nativitas Mundi" is a majestic, soaring and Diabolical Black Metal space opera in 3 acts. In Act 1 the listener follows the journey of the royal alchemist, Myrddin, as he is appointed his holy mission to, one way or another, set the ball rolling on the formation of a new Galactic Imperium in the name of the king. The King has long viewed the distant astral bodies as a means to connect with divinity, and now after communion with what he perceives to be Jesus Christ, he sees it as his destiny to reach them and become a godlike figure himself. In Act 1 Myrddin develops his unholy formula to propel man to the stars and reach the neutron star that the king perceives to be his portal to divinity. In Act 2 the listener follows Myrddin and his crew to the stars, where they reach the neutron star to find only that it is no such thing. The crew is sucked into a wormhole and greeted not by divinity, but by Satan himself. It was he that visited the king that fateful night, A diabolical trick by the prince of darkness to tempt the once holy men into the construction of a new Galactic Imperium, but not in the name of a divine god king, but in the name of dark and powerful entities. In Act 3 the listener follows the crew as they undergo this iniquitous task, by first constructing a cosmic temple to Satan, where worship and sacrifice will replace life on earth with the rule of galactic satanic worship and eventually the formation of the final Galactic Imperium.
By command of the Hermetic Order of Ytene, this is a ferocious, majestic and savage Black Metal offering to the old Brittonic Ways! Surging with darkness and truth, Albionic Hermeticism once again captures something rarely found in Black Metal these days! O.W.G.A, the sole member of Albionic Hermeticism describes the project as "enlightenment by means of hermetic rituals in a North-western European context: the ancient rites and gods of Egypt brought forth by their own pagan European past, a past morphed by centuries of migrations including that of the red-haired Egyptian aristocracy to the British isles".
“The Fallen Leaves” is the fourth full-length album from Dwarrowdelf.
Representing a new beginning for the project, the record displays lyrical themes of sorrow, struggle, and grappling with reality.
Taking further inspiration from the diverse blend of influences that drove 2021’s “Cold Lie the Ashes” yet cohesively retaining the trademark Dwarrowdelf sense of scale and atmosphere, this album truly sounds like nothing else.
The CD comes as Collector’s Edition in 6-panel Digipack, limited to 500 copies.
Zwielicht exists as such since 2002, but was called Gordem beforehand. It was not until 2005 the unholy legion decided to rebaptize to the name Zwielicht, which lasts until to this day. The first physical emanation was a self released demo tape in 2006: "Leibestod". Onwards and downwards the spiral the next was in 2010 when the first EP – Unholy Legion - was released via the very own label Back to the Bone which was also founded in said year. Zwielicht’s debut album, With love from Sinister, was released on CD in 2014, on Tape in 2015 and in 2022 on Vinyl and as a special Tape version. The latter two were published by Idiots Records and Ancient Spirit Terror. In the same year the unholy legion started the recordings for their sophomore album which will see its first light on 9th February 2024.
