Debut full-length of France's AUM, Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum. Not to be confused with the black metal band hailing from Hong Kong, AUM are obscurity incarnate - not only for the secrecy surrounding this new entity, but more so sonically. Although spiritually inclined toward the black arts, France's AUM carry forward that blackened base into crushingly heavy and torturously twisted death metal. Exploding forth with a gutsfucking guitar tone and propulsive 'n' powerful drumming, Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum takes seven separate paths toward the ultimate end: an impermanent manifestation of life and death cycles through oriental philosophies and religions.

Utilizing death metal that is simultaneously crude and complicated, primitive and elevated, the seven-song screed becomes an inner travel to find reality as it is, to find the law of nature, to understand the whole life, to experiment death and birth through our own dissolution. It is at once alien and familiar, engrossing and challenging, confrontational and fleeting; it is an experience that exists on both physical and astral planes.
