Borgne path has never been straight. Founded in 1998, when it debuted with a demo, the project went off the radar for almost a decade, coming back at full throttle in 2007 with two albums released almost simultaneously. Another ten years after, we are proud to add the Swiss band, which recently became a two-piece, to our roster.
To introduce the new, impending studio album [8], we asked multi-instrumentalist veteran Bornyhake a comment:
“8 is not only a number but a symbol, symbol of infinity, infinity you close inside brackets.
8 is not only a number but a word, word of hatred to break all the brackets.
After twenty years of chaos, [8] is the 8th Borgne full-length album.
Featuring 8 tracks of non-traditional black metal, written in French and English. Chaos, darkness, feelings, loneliness, anger, insanity, suffering and death... 8 words to describe it.
The most electric and complicated, fragile and deep, industrial and cold, strange and tormented album Borgne ever did. Lovers gonna 8.” And Bornyhake is right: [8] is an evil, evocative opus of industrial black metal that will freeze your every feeling.

The grey mist surrounding Milan was the perfect setting for Korpsvart and Ymir to start writing music, an atmospheric black metal devoted to the Pacific Northwest, yet mixed with blackgaze and a taste of depressive rock.
The milanese band is only debuting, but their sound is definite and varied, yet humble. A first effort which shows a precise direction, the album succeeds in mixing fury and softness, nostalgia and sense of wonder. In the musicians own words, “though not exactly what one would call a concept album, "The Shrine Of..." can be considered as a coherent journey through the most sublime, yet dismal, aspects of nature and myth; a voyage which ultimately merges with a reflection on the human condition and its fleeting nature.”
“The Shrine Of Primal Fire finds a perfect balance between so many different feelings, making the music of A Pale December the perfect autumn soundtrack.

“The Shape of He to Come” is the first of the “Collective” series, meaning that it diverges from the model of Botanist studio albums as the result of Otrebor doing everything, and instead recording more like a full band with distributed responsibilities. “The Shape” stands as a testimonial to the work, time, and effort that six people put into rehearsing, touring, and composing

"The Sachem's Tales is an amazing work of solid, agonizing and intense feelings cutting black metal. Behind the music there lies a melodic agreement with the guitars and the synthesizer sounds, kind of giving a counterpoint to each, but all joining in the end for fantastic melodic landscapes. From worlds of mythologies and legends, the lyrics never saturate, even on the predictable despair of the clean female voice and strings moments."

Featuring guest appearances by members of Undersmile, As We Were When We Were Not sees Mountains Crave expanding on the blueprint laid down with their eponymous EP, incorporating disparate influences from Pink Floyd to Wolves in the Throne Room. Deftly interweaving blast-led savagery with delicate and pensive atmospherics, the listener is stimulated on both a visceral and cerebral level. Inspired by Aldous Huxley’s 1962 lecture on visionary experience, the album explores themes such as spiritual enlightenment, death and the afterlife, and man’s kinship and subsequent alienation from the universe.
Including past and present members of A Forest of Stars, Old Corpse Road, The Afternoon Gentlemen, Gets Worse, and Masochist, Mountains Crave began in March 2013

Saule was formed in Poland in 2015, which has come to have the most creative and ever-surprising extreme metal scene of any European country - and for underground music, in general. It is incredible the amount of new bands and great music that this country is giving to fans for the past 15 years - and let's not forget the past! - both in metal, post-rock and prog metal fields.
And that's precisely where Saule comes in with Saule. The band's formation process and search for the proper people took about two years, and it resulted in a carefully crafted debut album recorded during the late autumn of 2016 in Satanic Audio. A work of vast vision and rigorous repose, the sound across Saule is focused around post-metal and post-rock genre, but strongly deriving from black metal and acutely coated in subtle ambient echoes.
Given Saule's rather brief existence and minimal experiences so far (although they've already made their live debut with landmates Thaw and others), the band presently prefers to keep a minimalistic outlook and would love to let the music do the talking. Open your ears to Saule!
