Necrogod is the perfect expression of atavistic death metal brutality spearheaded by none other than Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Revolting, Eye of Purgatory) who has teamed up with the revered The Master Butcher (Morbid Stench, Insepulto) to make this feat possible. Construct of Lethe have created a deeply personal, autobiographical concept album dealing with suicidal depression which is meant to be listened to seamlessly as a single song. They've transcended the death metal confines on this album to achieve the kind of expression that encompasses a wide range of emotions and to that extent they've borrowed influences of other styles such as industrial, black metal, doom metal, ambient, etc. and even used synth and electronics to achieve that. The album traverses various dimensions while remaining coherent as well as cohesive, with the writing always coming off as intuitive, flowing naturally and never forced. As the battle rages on with the inner voice coming to terms with the persisting life, one can experience the undulating highs and lows via the music, and more often than not, following moments of bleakness, there's an epic, cathartic outcome as if by way of an epiphany. The upbeat sections replete with the Morbid Angel-esque riffing make an appearance too along with the flurry of leads which the band have perfected over the years. All in all, it's a rich, varied and unique album that needs to be treated differently. It's meant not just to be heard but to be experienced.

Cutterred Flesh have evolved to play what’s beginning to resemble a progressive form of brutal death metal. While not as slick as some of their contemporaries skittishly moving about with hardly any impact, Cutterred Flesh’s music carries real weight and boasts of similar diversity if not more and is littered with unpredictable parts. Each of the songs on their sixth full length have a special thing going on and close listens only reveal the intricate structuring and even traces of emotive facets. It’s rare to come across a brutal death metal album that scratches the bludgeoning heaviness itch and also leaves a lasting impact that’s not purely external. Cutterred Flesh have clearly mastered their craft at this stage and come up with an album that is unfathomably heavy yet versatile and engaging which easily stands out from the one-dimensional ones languishing in the narrow confines of the brutal death metal realm.

There's unparalleled elegance, remarkable dynamism and above all, the genuine quality of a band that's creating music from the heart without any affectation.

Members of Acausal Intrusion and Dwelling Below conspire amongst themselves to create dissonant/technical death metal that pushes the limits of reality.
