Cold Winds Cleave the Earth boldly and brazenly displays HOLLOW WOODS' full potential across its six-song/39-minute duration. Epic but never belabored, physical but finessed, straightforward but never simplistic: no gimmicks, just hateful black metal. HOLLOW WOODS are always working within the framework of devotion to the primal world and nature mysticism; both can be felt, subtly but assured, across the entirety of Cold Winds Cleave the Earth. The artwork and inspiration for the album's theme stems from Finnish linguist and ethnographer Kai Donner (1888-1935), taken during his expeditions to Siberia.
So pure, so cold, so boundless within its boundaries: HOLLOW WOODS present a new grim majesty with Cold Winds Cleave the Earth.

This is no return, this is DEATH!
Formed in 2019 by black/death metal activists of the Spanish underground, AWAKETH is an entity formed against nowadays black metal's relativism and open-minded "scene." Inspired by the activism of the '90s Nordic tradition, the Teutonic black metal fury, and the corrupted Les Légions Noires, AWAKETH open wounds again, going to the core, without artifice. Just black metal in its purest and dirtiest integrity, Luziferian activism through distorted sonority against black metal's democratization: NOT EVERYTHING GOES.
Compiling both of the band's demos to date plus two extra tracks, Awaketh indeed awakens atavistic energies; AWAKETH simply harnesses them, for they were always there. All songs here were recorded through a primitive process somewhere in the Galizian forests. Both demos were previously released on tape format by In Pulverem Mortis and Tour de Garde, respectively, during the cursed year of 2020. Adding the tracks "Nocturnal Lust" and "Burning Golgotha" recorded exclusively for this vinyl edition, AWAKETH re-opens those wounds when life couldn't get any worse.

Presenting the speed metal of Dungeon Steel, with an album that careens recklessly from its incongruously calming synth intro into five tracks of hi-octane riffs and rabid vocals, unleashed with wild, wide-eyed abandon. The work of three Ecuadorian artists behind some of recent years’ most excellent black metal and dungeon synth projects which we have featured on the channel, including Wampyric Rites and Avstral Forest – Eblis Destructor, Wampyric Strigoi, and Vrolok…. …meaning this project is not all uppers. The album is dedicated to the memory of Vrolok, who recently left this earthly realm. A sad loss for the South American scene, and for us all.
SILVANTHRONE deliver uncompromising underground black metal with a raw melodic base and performed mainly in a flogging pace. When you are looking for pure and timeless black stuff you are just right.
Valdivian raw black metal ambient, we find an exquisite set of melodies with classic structures from the dark glorious 90s. A very primitive sound but full of an elegant and furious feeling, inspired by the old pioneer hordes but with a rather characteristic personal touch orchestrated by sinister dark structures.

Lurking, skulking, mangled and malaissed, Morte Incandescente again offer poignant proof that true black metal is timeless, eternal, undead - and doesn't need to live anyway. They'll persist in their own world forevermore, and indeed is it a Vala Comum
In your searching for new metal, if you need to check off boxes like “melodic”, “nuanced”, “forward-thinking”, “intricate”, or “soulful”, you should probably stop reading right now. On the other hand, if adjectives like “filthy”, “feral”, “primitive”, “carnal”, and “ferocious” are on your list, you’ve come to the right place.
With vitriol surging in torrents through their veins and no regard for the well-being of their listeners, the Portuguese black metal band Ruach Raah (now stripped down to a duo) are returning with their third album, Misanthropic Wolfgang, which is set for release by Signal Rex on June 30th. Based on the music, we’re guessing that the title isn’t an homage to Mozart but is instead a contraction of “wolf gang”. They do indeed sound like wolves on the hunt, racing their listeners into the ground with teeth bared — or maybe more accurately igniting a desire among listeners to run with them on their wild romps.
And make no mistake, as abrasive, rabid, and riotous as the music is, it’s primally infectious stuff — which you’ll discover through today’s premiere of the new album track “Skulls Cracked“.
SIGNAL REX, in conspiracy with BESTIAL BURST, is proud to present MOON ORACLE's striking debut album, Muse of the Nightside, on CD, 12" vinyl, and cassette tape formats.
MOON ORACLE was formed by Sûrya-Ishtara and U after spending years searching for their own sound with previous bands. Later on, Harald Mentor was asked to fill the role of vocalist, knowing his abilities from such acts as Ride for Revenge, Incriminated and Uskonrauha, among many others. Thus formed, MOON ORACLE began their first recording in earnest.
Now, that first recording arrives in nearly full-length form with the 26-minute Muse of the Nightside. Aptly titled, Muse of the Nightside reveals MOON ORACLE as astute auctioneers of pure-yet-idiosyncratic metal, equally informed by archaic black metal and eldritch doom, all bass-heavy crunge and wild tribal drumming. And yet, these essentially lunar reflections stem from the need to reiterate their darker, violent energies into expressive form: intense, irascible, derelict, dire. Sonically, then, the album explores that battleground between the Id and the Ego - barbaric primitivism ripped asunder and reshaped into ghoulishly avant-garde shapes. It's a trip, man.
MOON ORACLE is not for everyone; taboos exist for a reason. For those of such constitution, their Muse of the Nightside will open its chasm and ensnare with lurid ease.

ANCIENT BURIAL hail from the darkest underbelly of Portugal's forever-thriving raw black metal scene. Although a new entity, with no prior public recordings existing, the band mysteriously may or may not include members of other high-profile hordes. Nevertheless, what they've created with their debut album stands for serious reckoning. Ominously titled Beyond the Watchtowers, ANCIENT BURIAL's first full-length indeed goes BEYOND: a hysteric, hellacious black (w)hole of horrific frequencies, each smothering the senses with hypnotic magick and almost avant-garde crudity.

From the depths of infernal blackness comes the first conjuration demonstration, Necroprophecy, from black metal duo, Gramarye.
This first tale unfolds the story of a sorcerer's apprentice, and his lust for the dark arts through four blasphemous verses.
Rising again from the crypts of abysmal darkness, GRAMARYE prepared the second conjuration of necromantic black metal sorcery, "Spellbound in Black Majesty".
This second tale unfolds the stories of two insidious necromancers, a tyrannical warlord, the armies of the undead, and the struggle for power over the realm of mankind.
Told through five heretical verses that will invoke a lust for undead power in those that thirst for the cauldron’s gruel and since day one followed GRAMARYE path with the feral release of "Necroprophecy"
