Silvern, a black metal band from Ukraine, is set to release their debut album, "Stardust Sermons". Driven by a shared passion for black metal, Silvern decided to self-record and mix the album to achieve a raw and gritty sound. The journey to completing "Stardust Sermons" was challenging, with multiple postponements due to the full-scale aggression from Russia. The band released their first single, "Lorn", on February 22, 2022, just two days before the war began, leading to a hiatus. They made a comeback on June 1, 2023, with their second single, "Still Higher Than Saviour's Star". Following this, Silvern partnered with Vendetta Records to release their debut album. "Stardust Sermons" is a conceptual journey that follows a faceless character from the opening track "Lorn" to the closing track "Still Higher Than Saviour's Star." The album explores how the character's perception of reality shifts through various encounters and challenges. It highlights the duality of human belief, showing that not everything black is truly black, and not everything white is truly white. The album delves into humanity's need for belief and the unknown mysteries of life, capturing interactions with people, nature, religion, science, and the cosmos.
Shining the latest album from Swallow the Sun, encapsulates the profound duality of the human experience and the band's enduring brilliance. The album explores the intrinsic challenges of being human, contrasting the beauty and purity within individuals with the transformation that occurs when we come together, chasing us away from innocence like rats from Eden. It highlights the struggle and disillusionment in human interactions.
Marking 23 years of their musical progression, Shining also symbolizes the band's pride and resilience, showcasing their brightest and strongest work to date. This album is a testament to Swallow the Sun's artistic legacy, intertwining existential reflections with their characteristic majestic sound.

New England extreme metal powerhouse, Escuela Grind, will release its new LP, 'Dreams on Algorithms', on October 18 via MNRK Heavy. Recorded at Salem, Massachusetts' GodCity studio with producer Kurt Ballou, and mastered by Nick Townsend (Dr. Dre, Betty Davis) the record is the highly anticipated follow-up to Escuela Grind's celebrated 2022 full-length debut, 'Memory Theater', a recording hailed as "an opus of extremity" by The New York Times.Escuela Grind’s journey through the punishing sonic landscape of Grindcore has been anything but status quo. Their mantra of promoting inclusivity and acceptance within extreme music communities stands as a pillar of progression in an often gate-kept and closed-minded subculture. Vocalist Katerina Economou spreads the band’s spirit and core beliefs on every stage they touch – amplifying the voices of the underrepresented and connecting people on a level deeper than the music.Dreams on Algorithms is a sonic testament to the band’s ideologies – a bludgeoning display of progressive extreme metal that steps outside of genre boundaries.
Comdemned to Suffer was recorded in Croydon UK and mixed by London-based Tide Music Studios. This is our 3rd album, the most personal so far, as no guest musicians participated during recording and lyrics are more mature and complex, mostly reflecting different struggles that we’ve overcomed in the past 5 years as a band. In the melodic death metal genre, we like to add black metal elements to the mix as well to make the music sound a bit darker and intense. We’ve been influenced mostly by death metal pioneers from 90’s but there are also modern elements in our music. We were influenced by the bands like The Carcass, At the Gates and Dissection, so our music can be described as ‘similar’ to these bands with a pinch of modern elements on top. We put great emphasis on this album and worked really hard to make it sound profound and we believe this is the most mature album that we’ve released so far.
In the vein of AT THE GATES, DISSECTION & CARCASS
