ZARATUS were formed in 2018 by Bill Zobolas (Soulskinner, Thou Art Lord e.t.c) and Stefan Necroabyssius (Varathron, Katavasia e.t.c). The idea behind the creation of the band was the unity of forces of 2 members with history in the creation of the Greek scene of the 90s, where they will offer a fresh idea of how black metal should sound today. Based on the deep roots of authentic black metal, but with many elements of epic, majestic and beyond the limits, ZARATUS create a unique identity in both style and sound, which makes them stand out. In 2019 they released the Mini LP "The Descent", which is essentially an authentic imprint of the familiar Greek black metal sound of the 90's.

In the same year they recorded their first full-length album "In The Days Of Whore". The recordings and mixing were done in Red 7 studio by Bill, while the vocals and the mastering were done in Suncord Audiolab studio, by Achilleas Kalantzis. The album contains 7 tracks of a total duration of 48 minutes. It is a journey to ancient times, where darkness and light were one, when the primordial mysteries and the power of nature were integral parts of evolution. The music is inextricably linked to the lyrics, creating a unique atmosphere. Based on and with respect to their black metal roots, ZARATUS broke the bonds of the limits of the genre and passed to other dimensions, touching lyricism, epicism, classical periods, but also sometimes giving redemption to the listener through simplicity.

The Ruins of Beverast's Exuvia is a dark and twisted slab of black/doom metal that calls forth ancient spirits to cleanse the Earth of its filth.

It will take you quite a while, to explore the whole album in detail.
With every listening you will find something new and this is it, what makes the album to the strongest release of the band up to now.

„Tempelschlaf" is THE RUINS OF BEVERAST's seventh full-length output and sees the band carrying on their sonic morbidity, noises and melodies of a human habitat in its sunset era, while maintaining and refining the widescreen low end that has been sustaining their sound almost from the beginning.

On the instrumental side, „Tempelschlaf" is stripped of quite some abdominal fat, forging the songs with a reduction in length and layers, cautiously leaning towards the stage part of things. Still, TROB's main discipline, the cineastic incarnation of audial nightmares, is omnipresent on the album. While synths and samples have always been playing a bizarrely adamant role in TROB's sound, they reach yet another level of psychedelia and insanity on „Tempelschlaf".

«Paired with the re-issue of “Axioma Ethica Odini”, as these two Enslaved-albums also form an important pair musically; as many of the bands releases do, forming pairs in dynamics sonically and conceptually. Already somewhat of a “cult classic”, this is the album where the production philosophy of “new era” Enslaved was born, through the mentoring of mixer Joe Baressi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Melvins) – recorded in Studio Studio, owned and operated by TNT lead guitarist Ronnie Le Tekrø (who also guests on the album).

This re-issue features two very rare cover-tracks recorded during Enslaved legendary live-appearance at Henie Onstad Museum, Oslo, Norway - in May 2011; one is Rush’s “Earthshine” while the other is King Crimson’s instrumental “Red”. These covers set the rest of the album into context through highlighting two main influences for Enslaved’s evolution from especially “Vertebrae” and onwards.

The re-issue features in-depth liner notes written and edited by writer and long-time friend of the band Chris Dick; known for his decades of writing for the American Metal-magazine Decibel Magazine. The liner notes are written in the style of an in-depth and extensive interview with all five members on the album, where many new angles and golden nuggets of information never before divulged publicly.

The design of the album is beautifully redone with new details, colors layout solutions by Marcelo Vasco (Slayer, Kreator, Machine Head), all while staying true to the original artwork by longtime Enslaved-cover artist Truls Espedal.
