Formed in 2011, Norway's NACHASH have patiently etched out a unique space in the wider metal underground. A power-trio from the very beginning, the band's members currently play or have played in such bands as Celestial Bloodshed, Askeregn, Knokkelklang, Hideous Death, Kosmik Tomb, and Black Edifice among others. Black metal is the beginning base - unsurprisingly, given their country of origin - but elements of other metallic styles have been intertwined in varying degrees. The goal, ultimately, has been to conjure a dark and aggressive atmosphere yet keeping an epic bent to the music throughout, as well, by drawing on several traditions and styles. NACHASH took their first steps toward that goal with 2015's Conjuring the Red Death Eclipse EP and then accomplished exactly that with their debut album, 2018's acclaimed Phantasmal Triunity. Now, they're set to eclipse that estimable full-length with LP#2, Eschaton Magicks.

Once again tellingly titled, Eschaton Magicks builds upon the shocking maturity of NACHASH's debut album. 

For the first time ever, a salacious selection of EDGE OF SANITY's obscure, earliest recordings are available officially. Titled “Elegy - Chapter I”, the band’s early (promo, rehearsal or studio) demos “Euthanasia” (1989), “The Immortal Rehearsals” (1990), “kur-nu-gi-a” (1990), “The Dead” (1990) and “Dead But Dreaming” (1991) were hearsed from the cemetary to the mortuary for reanimation by songwriter/frontman/producer Dan Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, Bloodbath).

Featuring a brand-new, hand-drawn cover by visual artist Mark Rudolph (Carcass, Undeath), “Elegy - Chapter I” is by the old guard for all guards to relive or unearth afresh. EDGE OF SANITY weren’t always on the bleeding edge of death metal. No, on “Elegy - Chapter I” the Swedes actually bled death metal. This is a collection of underground old school Swedish death metal at its best!

All five demos have been remastered by Swanö, with the 13 tracks of “Euthanasia”, “kur-nu-gi-a” and “The Dead”.

Teitanblood returns to claim underground metal’s most lawless frontier. “From the Visceral Abyss” is an all-engulfing tide of unfettered, raging chaos – where black and death metal collapse into a maelstrom of destruction. Its force is neither random nor aimless but guided by an instinct sharpened over decades.

This is Teitanblood at their most unhinged, yet wholly assured in execution. Dissonance and precision collide in monstrous, writhing riffs, underpinned by percussive violence that shifts between merciless blasting and dirge-like weight. Layer upon layer of bile-drenched vocals coil through the cacophony, forging a suffocating atmosphere of grotesque grandeur.

As ever, the album is steeped in the restless spirit of the late Finnish artist Timo Ketola, who stood as both interpreter and architect of Teitanblood’s visual world. Ketola’s oracular visions provided the scripture from which these lyrics emerged – his legacy not merely preserved but carried forth beyond the grave. The tradition of transmuting sound into imagery continues, with Dávid Glomba filling the booklet’s pages with a dense tapestry of illustrations, sigils, and hand-scribed invocations.
