One of Greece's best-kept secrets, HATE MANIFESTO formed in 2003 but, so far, have an extremely sparse discography. However, what they lack in quantity, they more than double-up on in quality. To Those Who Glorified Death, their debut album from 2017 - which HELTER SKELTER rereleased on a worldwide scale in early 2018 - displayed the shockingly extreme force with which HATE MANIFESTO could create their whirlwind of martial black/death. But with the aptly titled Herald of Triumph do they fully display the armament of their potential. Comprising four fierce 'n' fiery tracks in a swift 'n' decisive 17 minutes, Herald of Triumph is full-on shock & awe - CRUSH, KILL, DESTROY - with HATE MANIFESTO's chosen weapons being the iron-fisted surge of black metal and the muscular swarm of death metal, all rendered in rich, devastating tones.

When PARADISE LOST guitarist Greg Mackintosh put to rest his VALLENFYRE side project in 2018, he closed a difficult, but an ultimately cathartic period in his life. Created as a tribute to his father John, who passed away in 2009, VALLENFYRE originally served as a sounding board for Greg’s grief, but then delved into his nihilistic take on the world. VALLENFYRE’s brief existence was intentional — the band always knew they could go no further than the three studio albums that bore their name. A mere few days after VALLENFYRE played its last live show in September 2018, Mackintosh announced the formation of a brand-new band, STRIGOI.Named after the troubled spirits in Romanian mythology who could rise from the grave and assume an entirely different form, STRIGOI's lineup is rounded out by former EXTREME NOISE TERROR and VALLENFYRE bass player Chris Casket, who was also responsible for the project's lyrics. Mackintosh gave him simple thematic guidelines: Attack organized religion, sparingly discuss grief and dive into the countless horrible things humanity continues to inflict upon itself.
The resultant 12-song-debut »Abandon All Faith« was recorded and mixed at Greg's Black Planet Studio between January and March 2019 and today, the English duo unveils a haunting music video directed by Ash Pears. Designed in the same black and white vein of the band's overall look, 'Phantoms' will clearly evoke some ghosts. Stream or download the new single here: https://nblast.de/Strigoi-Phantoms
The debut album will be available as jewelcase CD, black vinyl in gatefold

Profetus - The Sadness of Time Passing (New Full Album) Profetus was formed under the heavy snows of Tampere, Finland in 2006, to perform solemn and mournful, crushing and captivating Funeral Doom - brought to existence by A. Mäkinen & S. Kujansuu. The musical idea was to bring forth their musical love for old Doom Metal and especially to affine the funeral ambience of classic Finnish Funeral Doom acts like Thergothon, Unholy and Skepticism. As a leading frame of their future work, they decided to create the sound without bass guitar and replaced it with organ which would give a monotonous and more majestic background to their slow march. Highly acclaimed by the followers of the funeral cult. The Sadness Of Time Passing is the third full-length studio album by the Finnish band, and is worth every single day of the five long years its creation took. Profetus's third studio album is a concept about time and mortality, a collection of bleak compositions to raise the awareness that everything is transient, all is impermanent. To express such idea, The Sadness Of Time Passing can be linked to the Japanese concept "mono no aware", and such link to the far east is sealed by its cover. The painting by Yuka Yoshihara, talented contemporary Japanese painter, was made using 19th century colors and old Japanese painting techniques to resemble a Finnish romantic, XVII century painting. The Sadness Of Time Passing was composed along a five-year span, a period which carried great personal losses for Mäkinen. Eventually, Profetus locked the door of their own studio, a wooden lodge in the middle of the Finnish woods, and recorded the album as a whole during one week only, in early 2018. The studio, said to be haunted by the spirits of the woods, gave a natural sound to the recordings.
This is a big album, with big songs and a big sound! Mandatory if you like: Solstice (UK), Candlemass, Solitude Aeternus, (old) Anathema
