Solanum was founded by B.S. back in 1997 after Depressive Silence split up. Compared to Depressive Silence Solanum's concept is more cosmic and its sound has a different, rather uplifting and more futuristic atmosphere, but like Depressive Silence the Solanum demos are genre classics and provided a considerable influence for later Dungeon Synth and Cosmic Black Metal projects.

"Daudswiärk" is Horn's 10th studio album, following the 20th anniversary of the Black Metal project. Stylistically, Daudswiärk – "Work of Death" in the Low German variant formerly spoken in the Münsterland region – takes a few steps back in time after the rather experimental, multi-instrumental folk-influenced album "Verzet", reverting to the basic Metal instruments, resulting in a concise, fast and short full-length album devoid of intros, outros or interludes. It features a very somber overarching tone compared to the rather upbeat Horn albums of the last years – blast beats, scattered dystopian synths, a heavy shift towards extreme vocals instead of clean ones. The output was produced by M. Stock (Empyrium/The Vision Bleak/Sun of the Sleepless) at the renowned "Studio E2" and features a rough and dense sound heavily favoring the bass guitar and drum work. 

Thematically and as first in the history of the project, Daudswiärk features various passages in the Low German vernaculars of Westphalia, primarily "Westfäölsk" and "Mönsterlänner Platt", derived from various historical sources (dictionaries/poems/short prose texts). The album is centered around rural life in this region around the turn of the 19th/20th century, mainly dealing with the topics of agriculture, hunger, sickness and demise, yet also with the advance of medicine during that period.

Belore's first two albums were journeys into forgotten lands, where each title told a story - a world where landscapes, magic and medieval history exist side by side.

Continuing in this tradition, the third album features seven captivating and varied songs of Epic/Atmospheric Black Metal reminiscent of bands like Summoning, Caladan Brood or Emyn Muil. The album transports listeners to a fictional, medieval world where they can let themselves be carried away by their imagination.

The concept of Bilwis comprises old European fairy tales and myths, clothing them in a garment of raw, yet melodic and atmospheric Black Metal with German lyrics - a journey to the world of forgotten dreams, wolves, ghosts, dwarfs, mermaids, trolls, elves, vampires & giants.

When Bilwis started the songwriting for the new album “Hameln”, it soon became apparent that in terms of songwriting he needed to return to the debut EP, but with improved sound. The last album “Pan” ended up very melodic and playful, whereas the concept of the new album required a darker and oppressive sound and songwriting to express the grim themes that the lyrics deal with. Musically, a big inspiration have always been Dissection, and while not always apparent, the occasional nods to “The Somberlain” are quite distinctive.

In order to visually express the dark themes of the fairy tales and myths which are told on the new album, particularly that of the title song, it was decided to get the cover artwork done by the very talented German artist Julian Bauer, who captured the essence of the music and lyrics perfectly in his image of the “Rattenfänger von Hameln”.

Bellum I and II showcase the band’s rare amalgam of authentic classical, European folk and black metal influences, alongside Aquilus’s unique multi-instrumentation and compositional complexity. Depending on the piece, instruments used range from an assortment of acoustic guitars to pianos, violins, mandolas, mandolins, balalaika, banjo, gusli, bow psaltery, and fipple flutes among others. Metal influences, ranging from early Metallica to the early works of Solefald, Opeth and Katatonia, combine with the classical romanticism of Rachmaninov and Chopin, to the soundtrack textures of Bernard Herrmann and Thomas Newman.

The amount of time, thought and detail gone into the works is immense. Many years of dedication have been put in to produce the best works possible. Now the world can hear ‘Bellum’ in its entirety. ‘Bellum I’ and ‘Bellum II’ being essentially one colossal album split into two releases, both written and recorded at the same time. ‘Bellum II’ is the more mellow of the two albums, but still contains its dark and heavy moments, albeit with longer expansive tracks and some different shades not seen on ‘Bellum I’. This album features the song "Hagalaz" from the split with Dreams of Nature that was only available on that CD until now, as well as an unreleased demo version of "Spirit of the North" from 2015 and the previously unreleased demo song "Entering Eldamar" from 2015 - a fantastic 15 minutes opus that showcases a much darker and more melancholic side of Eldamar. The earliest beginnings, if you will. All in all you get 40:44 min of rare and unreleased Eldamar material in a strictly limited digipack edition. An absolute must have for fans of the project!
