With an inception going back to 2019, Defacement rapidly gained momentum within the underground realms with two full-length records marked by an intense and experimental take on death and black metal, Deviant (2019) and self-titled Defacement (2021). Three long years after their latest output, the international band flares its cryptic head yet again with an epic tome of twisted and gnarly emanations, an immersive pathway into the void entitled Duality.
Defacement's third studio record is challenging and confrontational in its invocation of primal forces lying dormant in the world below. Inspired by the unfathomable, shadowy corners of human existence, Defacement hatches a penetrating sonic journey, unpredictable in its own dynamic, ever-changing form. Intricate and complex riffing lay as a basis for dexterous melodies, making Duality the most complete and mature among the band’s outputs. The cold and experimental interludes entangled between tracks, serve as halting moments that further the conceptuality of Duality and broaden the gist of the main songs.
The tremendous rhythmic section, a complex and throbbing pulse of drumming fierceness and serpentine bass playing, is superiorly captured by the dynamic and organic production, a vigorous sound that evokes both an oppressive aura and wistful solemnity. Gabriele Gramaglia (Cosmic Putrefaction, Vertebra Atlantis) and Simon Da Silva (Aversio Humanitatis) took care respectively of the mixing and mastering, finely crafting the details of Defacement’s new album.

A core member of the ATMF sub-label A Sad Sadness Song, 5 years after the acclaimed album “Through The Void, Above The Suns” Deadly Carnage are ready to enchant the scene with a new work, “Endless Blue”.
Musically speaking the band continues on its personal path to bring avant-garde and progressive elements to their dark doom metal. The concept behind “Endless Blue” sinks its roots in Japanese folklore, a mysterious, fascinating and often cryptic world of mountains and fathomless abysses populated by ancestral spirits like Yokai, Oni and Yurei.
Freely inspired by Urashima Tarō’s legend “Endless Blu”, Deadly Carnage draws us in the Nipponic marine depths, a symbolic journey of descent and ascent where every song is a specific chapter of the story and where the music, rich in melodic textures and crepuscular sounds, moves with ease from the dark shadings of atmospheric black metal to post-rock territories and doomish intimism. It took the band 5 years to develop an even more personal sound, also thanks to the use of unusual instruments such as the erhu, the bouzouki and the lute. The result is extremely fascinating, and a perfect fusion of music and artwork.
“Endless Blue” will be released on September 29th, 2023 as a luxurious A5 Digipack CD edition with insert, limited to 400 copies, and as a 12″ Vinyl LP on December 2023 in Gatefold sleeve, pressed in 3 different colours , ltd to 300 units equally divided between red blood, sea blue & beer brown colours
Hammerfilosofi was formed in the year MMXX in the midst of global chaos, shutdowns, death, panic and pestilence. For some, a time of despair and mass hysteria, but for others, a time of solitude, of contemplation and of inner strength. The idea behind the band, according to Fuoco Cammina Con Me was quite simple:
“We are taking Black Metal back to its primeval and genuine meaning and purpose. Hammerfilosofi is the cleansing fire that aims to eradicate every trace of the civilized, the harmless, and the mediocre. It is an instrument to initiate a violent cathartic inner journey – and a celebration of strength and vigor, of terror and strife, and of glorious death.”
Two years later, Hammerfilosofi is ready to unleash its first offering to the world: A 45 minute long incendiary feast of Black Metal Fanaticism, entitled “The Desolate One”. According to Noktifer, the album is a musical and lyrical celebration of the path to godhood.
“It is a ceremonious depiction of the sulphurous path that may turn man into superman. Hopefully our work can contribute to Black Metal once again being both Feared and Revered!”
This is Black Metal from the fertile earth of the graveyard – made for the wanderer who dares walk the path of no return – guided by nothing but His luminous darkness.
“Never Arrive, Never Return” marks a return to Cadaverous Condition‘s ferocious death metal roots. The album is a relentless assault on the senses, featuring a mix of epic tracks alongside haunting half-ballads, brutal eruptions and groove-laden songs interwoven with the band’s signature cryptic lyrics, all delivered with crisp production.
Formed in Austria during the early 90s, Cadaverous Condition carved a unique path in extreme metal. While their vocals remained rooted in death metal, they experimented with diverse influences, covering artists like The Sisters of Mercy and collaborating with acts like Nurse With Wound, Thighpaulsandra, Tobias Nathaniel (The Black Heart Procession) and Herr Lounge Corps. They also did an art project with Bill Drummond (The KLF) involving a specially made CD and sending a message in a bottle from the shores of Iceland. Despite these explorations, Cadaverous Condition never strayed from their core: extreme metal with a distinct and reflective style. They return in 2024 with “Never Arrive, Never Return“, a fitting title for a band known for their relentless sonic journey.

Havukruunu is the spirit of freedom, harbinger of oblivion, and it tells you: FLY, YOU FOOLS!
Svart Records is set to release the band’s fourth album TAVASTLAND in February 2025
After three albums, the pieces of the puzzle fit, and Havukruunu, the favorite band of the sensitive and sorrowful returns with a vengeance to blur the line between the real and unreal. The sorrowful guitars of Stefa and Bootleg-Henkka draw threatening dark shadows on the wall, Kostajainen's drumming bombardement pulses like embers of a dying fire in the hearth. All the while, Humö's bass guitar is clanking and wailing like the icy wind rattling windows and banging walls, as Stefa roars and channels messages from the netherworld or preaches wisdom of ancient days, backed by a choir.
Lords of Hell smile approving as the flames of hatred and cunning of their beloved sons drowns a dying old world, and heart of the earth trembles the birth of new and weird. Havukruunu is the spirit of freedom, harbinger of oblivion, and it tells you: FLY, YOU FOOLS!
Havukruunu’s upcoming album TAVASTLAND tells the story of a small, strange people.
”-TAVASTLAND tells how in 1237 the Tavastians rose in a rebellion against the church of Christ and drove the popes naked into the frost to die. TAVASTLAND reveals our fathers’ centuries old sins and lies of consolation. TAVASTLAND speaks of him, who has become a prisoner of his home, alienated from the land of the forest and is now afraid of the dark with all lights on, surrounded by his smart devices. TAVASTLAND tells about the freedom we lost. TAVASTLAND haunts its listener to the grave, and I will personally open that grave one bleak night, and steal the fading light of your sempiternal soul.”, says Stefa.
TAVASTLAND is available on Svart exclusive ice & blood vinyl edition, limited to 666 copies. Also available on limited amber & black smoke vinyl, classic black vinyl, CD, cassette tape, and digital platforms. All vinyl editions of the first pressing include a booklet and poster. New Havukruunu T-shirt also up for pre-order now at Svart’s webstore. Release date February 28th, 2025
