Not only the water’s stream nor the heavy stones surrounding Elisa on her album’s cover are hitting powerfully, but also her songs’ instrumentals develop like that. Ellereve floats between captivating, magical soundscapes made of reverbs and distortions. By mashing electronic elements, folk influences, post-rock vibes, and varied dynamics to raise intensity and tension - the German singer-songwriter unveils her heart-treading melancholy and introverted nature. A curious sound researcher,
Elisa taught herself how to produce music in 2019 to maintain artistic freedom and be more independent in songwriting. The music of Ellereve has been recorded with the precious aid of her live band, which actively complements the organic and multi-faceted songwriting of the artist. The final production was done with her good friend and producer Salomon Appiah (7Apes), with whom she already worked on her debut EP "Heart Murmurs".
The visual side of the album was captured by the experienced hands of Konstantin Alexandroff and Laura Patricia. The album will be released as a limited CD edition (incl. 4 Bonustracks), various vinyl editions, and on all digital channels.
Comes housed in 300 gsm sleeve with double sided inner sleeve on 220 gsm carton.
VREDENSDAL, founded 2018 by The Goblin Reaper in Green Bay, Wisconsin - with the intention to alter the typical expectations of what Black Metal can be, integrating multiple influences into a single dynamic force to call out the primal desire within all to look deeper into our own inner shadow. Dubbed "N.W.O.U.S.B.M." by fans, the music features styles both, the familiar and the unknown, which weave a tapestry of homages to the masters of yesteryear and explore new takes on the genre, most often in a thrashing & grooving madness. Fans of both the classic and contemporary Black Metal sound will find this outstanding act warrants repeated listening.
Emerging Pagan black metal project Unfelled (ft. members of WOODS OF DESOLATION, DRUDKH, AUSTERE) is rising from the underground to release its debut full-length, ‘Pall of Endless Perdition.’ Designed by the same mastermind behind Woods of Desolation, the project serves as a vicious and violent counterpart to its elegant and melodic predecessor, showcasing multi-instrumentalist D.’s impressive musical duality. Musically weaving together fury and triumph with aggression and melody, the lyrics predominately centre on bloodshed, war and death – the threefold cloak beneath which lies eternal darkness.
Like strokes of inspiration, exquisite guitar melodies weave a fluent plethora of moods and emotions, showcasing a heavy classical influence. Undulant blast beats and biting screams serve as a counterpoint to pristine atmospheres and ethereal choirs, an obstinate reminder of the finite nature of man and his creations.
Here at the onset of a new decade, AARA presents a landmark of thoughtful, unorthodox Black Metal.
When drummer/vocalist Proscriptor McGovern (Russ R. Givens) dissolved Absu on January 27th 2020, his main intention was to splinter the 30-year old faction into a renewed songwriting concord. Proscriptor McGovern’s Apsû is the obvious by-product of that chemical breakdown, which constitutes a new incarnation and direct continuation of Absu’s legacy. Securing the ranks, alongside McGovern, are continuing bassist/vocalist Ezezu (Absu: 2008-2020), new guitar virtuoso Vaggreaz (Possessed, Gruesome) and keyboardist Vorskaath (Zemial, Agatus). Since Absu’s last, unreleased album was to be penned as “Apsû,” McGovern fused the title with his name to form the group. With this much anticipated, self-titled album, McGovern’s objective was to append the signature sound of “mythological occult metal,” but to convolute it with bouts of psychedelia, fusion and vintage electronics. Written for those who are curious and unwearied in their quest of arcane knowledge, the album was chronicled at studios around the world and features an exclusive set of guests
After their highly acclaimed avant-garde debut album "Secret Ambrosian Fire", released by Eisenwald in 2019, Thuringian folklorists MOSAIC return to their black metal roots with their new full-length album "Heimatspuk", delivering a primal symbiosis of atmospheric metal, mystical soundscapes and traditional primal folk elements.
The album continues where its predecessor "Secret Ambrosian Fire" left off. The modern world lies in ruins and has consumed itself. Lyrically, it is permeated by various leitmotifs, such as darkness, sanguine and forest mysticism - as well as the central elements of earth and air - whose attributes and symbolism characterize the album.
Unlike previous MOSAIC releases, there are no guest appearances on this album. The album was written and recorded entirely by Martin van Valkenstijn at his House of Inkantation in Gotha, with musical assistance from Danijel Zambo (Walden, Skognatt) and mastered by Markus Stock (Empyrium, Sun of the Sleepless) at Klangschmiede Studio E in Mellrichstadt.
