Old Sorcery is a dungeon synth / black metal project from Lahti, Finland, born in 2017 from the ever-creative mind of Juuso “Vrajitor” Peltola (Warmoon Lord, Argenthorns, Vrajitor’s Tenebrarium and many more), which is now in the middle of a trilogy of releases shared between labels Out Of Season and Avantgarde Music.

The Outsider is the second part of this fantasy concept, which here blends dungeon synth with the more atmospheric and escapist part of black metal.
Over 70 minutes long, The Outsider is a real journey through fabled lands and mysteries unknown.

VIA DOLORIS is the singular vision of Gildas Le Pape, shaped by solitude, discipline, and an uncompromising sense of craft. Rooted in Nordic black metal tradition yet guided by melody and introspection, the project traces a deeply personal inner journey. “Guerre et Paix” is an album of tension and balance, where shadow and light coexist in measured dialogue. Across seven expansive compositions, VIA DOLORIS explores the fragile architecture of the human psyche, moving through despair, rupture, and fleeting moments of clarity. The music favours restraint over excess, allowing melody to lead with quiet authority. Guitars unfold in long, expressive arcs, while rhythms remain deliberate and grounded, anchored by the nuanced drumming of Frost (Satyricon, 1349). Shifting between French, English, and Norwegian, language carries its own emotional gravity. Folk and pagan echoes surface subtly, lending the album a timeless, almost ritualistic atmosphere. Released in 2006, Watching from a Distance is the second album by WARNING, led by Patrick Walker, and stands as a cornerstone of deeply emotional doom metal.
This reissue on CD and marbled double vinyl resurrects a true masterpiece of pure, unfiltered melancholy.

Black Vinyl

From moniker to visual aesthetic and especially to the sonics themselves, HERALDIC BLAZE are encapsulating the oft-nebulous "medieval black metal" idiom with startling aplomb. While it's often difficult to discern exactly what medieval BM is other than a pithy "I know it when I hear it," HERALDIC BLAZE leave no doubt as to their intentions.

Witness their debut demo, Blazoned Heraldry. The duo of American multi-instrumentalist Argent Pale (vocals, bass, flute) and Norwegian guitarist Peregrinus (HJEMSØKT, SOLUS GRIEF, KVAD, UNHOLY CRAFT) create a spellbinding tapestry of rustic tones and textures. In fact, on texture alone - kinda clean and clanging, yet with more than a hint of ghostly grit and almost surfy reverb - HERALDIC BLAZE stand out, but it's how they utilize those textures in the service of songwriting: winding and wild, frothing up to an almost-dangerous delirium, but more often than not leaving wide-open spaces to let their medieval melodicism bend and sway with bravado and bittersweetness. And as actual flute flutters in from time to time, the sum effect, more often than not, is ALIEN - unsettling and alluring in equal measure.

While "merely" a demo recording, HERALDIC BLAZE's first work already trounces most modern works of "black metal." Unorthodox and unbound, Blazoned Heraldry is mandatory listening for fans of Sühnopfer, Ungfell, Grylle, Heltekvad, and particularly mid-2000s Peste Noire.

CORONER came up with an even more daring, unconventional album in 1993's ‘Grin', which abandoned much of the thrash-based aggression of their early days and focused on challenging dynamics and eerie atmospherics. This move proved too radical even for longtime fans, ironically, and they remain split over the album's merits, some seeing it as a total sellout, while many others consider it the band's greatest triumph.

Following the incredible success of the debut, the second full length, entitled ”Militant, Penitent, Triumphant”, builds on this rock solid foundation. It showcases the unique sound and song structures that so many people appreciated about “Six Voices Inside”, thus making it instantly recognizable as none other than Faidra. To keep that typical sound and atmosphere was indeed a very conscious decision. The familiar structures, ambient synth sounds and slow tempos from the first album are present and continue that tradition, while also including occasional new elements and influences.

The work on this new album started almost immediately after the release of the debut album, knowing that it would take a long time to complete because of rather limited free time. The project was worked on from time to time during almost three years without a consistent work flow, where sometimes months passed by without a single note recorded.

Where the debut tackled a lot of different subjects, the new album has a very specific theme running through almost every track. The larger concept handles the themes of sin, penitence and redemption; also mirroring the title of the album, which are the three states of the Catholic church.

BIANCA is an exploration steeped in the subversive fire of black metal, with a penchant for doom and atmospheric resonances, centered around a female identity that spans different dimensions, from an ethereal presence to a primal rawness.

The music was born in 2024 with a series of demos composed by β and Ͷ. ES (from Hideous Divinity and Patristic) stepped in, shapeshifting the songs and giving the band a new form. Sathrath (Nocturnal Depression) joined the final recording sessions with his thunderous black metal touch.

BIANCA's first self-titled album is an enigmatic eight-step journey into the power of the human mind and the unconscious dimension as a messenger of precious insights for interpreting reality. A deep dive into the non-material aspects of human life and their transformative potential. No idea of religion, but a radical atheist and humanistic stance within the musical language of black metal, merging melodic nuances in an atmospheric embrace. A sorrowful struggle runs through the veins of BIANCA’s music, chilling to the core, yet captivating and transporting the listener to uncertainty.

Originally released in 1998 "Estrella" completed that magic and essential "5 stars / albums" serie from the 90's (Ionia, A Day in the Stark Corner, The Burning Circle and Then Dust, Cold, Estrella) that marked LYCIA discography inescapably.

The album is now offered in a completely remastered edition, with largely revisited artwork too and three bonus songs (taken from "Compilation Appearances Vol. 2").

"Estrella" comes again in a beautiful packaging, gatefold sleeve, double LP in various vinyls colors. CD has been greatly treated too and comes in a six-panels folding digipak.
