Selling vinyl - Extreme Metal and Dark music
When Stefano Senesi inaugurated his minimalistic dark ambient outlet WINTERBLOOD with the release of his debut full-length "Le fredde ali dell'inverno" in 2008, both, his project's name and the album title that translates as "The Cold Wings of Winter", demonstratively pointed towards one of his favoured artistic sujets. In his stunning catalogue of currently 29 albums, the Italian has returned time and time again to rather nordic themes revolving around the cold season, but also other left-hand topics such as darkness, loneliness, magic, and forests.
With the 2019 digital release, "Finsternis", Stefano Senesi has most successfully evoked the eponymous darkness of its German title and frozen cineastic soundscapes delivered in his typical, minimalistic style that has been aptly dubbed "polar ambient" to such a degree that it has caused a continuous demand from the Italian's following for a physical release ever since this album came out. Kunsthall now gladly heeds the call and proudly presents WINTERBLOOD's "Finsternis" in a beautiful black and silver gatefold double-album edition on black vinyl.

With no further introduction needed, the early Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth had been crushing everything on its path ever since their birth in 1992.
Abigail has been a staple in the roster of Nuclear War Now! since its earliest days nearly twenty years ago. In addition to multiple albums and EPs, the label released a collection of early EPs and the band’s contribution to a split, entitled “The Lord of Satan.” Now NWN! and Abigail conspire once again to further proliferate the spread of the band’s earliest material with the release of “Blasphemy Night.” This collection, presented on vinyl LP format, includes both “Demo 1” from 1992 and the “Blasphemy Night” demo from 1993. These tracks document the band’s original sound, which is best characterized as an unpolished, abrasive variety of black metal, in contrast to the sharper, more thrash-oriented sort that has resulted from the band’s evolution. As such, it is an essential addition to any Abigail fan’s collection and, more generally, to anyone who celebrates the true spirit of black metal.
Spirit Adrift refuses to slow down. With Enlightened In Eternity, Nathan Garrett, alongside drummer Marcus Bryant, has created yet another monument to the timelessness of heavy metal. And while this album builds on the sizable foundation established by previous releases, it also sets itself apart in formidable new ways, widening the scope of what Spirit Adrift can be. What this band has mastered, and where others have failed, is the ability to invoke the power of metal’s past, whether it be the ’70s, ’80s or even the ’90s, as one hears here, without ever feeling throwback or “retro”. Spirit Adrift urgently represent the sonic and emotional zeitgeist of 2020. Enlightened In Eternity carries the same enormous magnitude of the most significant metal records of every era, but Garrett has carved out his own place among the greatest of songwriters, by crafting uniquely classic and instantly recognizable songs. Vocally, Garrett again showcases an obvious evolution of his already high-level ability with more soaring soul and snarling venom injected into his classic metal form. The gorgeous guitar leads, melodies, harmonies and unforgettably heavy riffs benefit from a huge, timeless production quality. Bryant has elevated his drumming to new levels of intensity and tasteful subtlety. And as always, the tracks remain imprinted on the mind long after the album has finished. Whether it’s the ever-expanding catalog of incredible albums and songs or the searing live performances, the dominance of Spirit Adrift upon the current heavy metal landscape is now undeniable. And while Enlightened In Eternity already marks the band’s fourth album, Spirit Adrift have only just begun..
