Comes in a 4-panel digipack with a 12-page booklet.
The wonderfully productive Swiss atmospheric Black Metal band AARA return with urgency to unleash "Triade II: Hemera", their 4th full-length since 2019 and the second chapter of the Melmoth trilogy.
Based upon the 1820 Gothic novel 'Melmoth the Wanderer' by Charles Robert Maturin - and closely connected in style and atmosphere to 2021's initial instalment "Triade I: Eos" - each of the 6 brutally melodic tracks follows the book's chronological mid-point narrative in a dazzling critical examination of theism and scepticism through the medium of top-tier Black Metal.
Although conceptually aligned with part one of the trilogy, "Triade II: Hemera" further-advances the AARA sound into realms of progressive extremity: defined once again by the beauteous lead melodies of composer/guitarist Berg, the record combines a raw violent undertow with subtle rhythmic shifts, left-field riffs/refrains and sublimated vocal savagery - interweaving Christian choirs, the Jewish shofar horn and traditional Indian vocal samples into yet another outstanding offering from an unstoppable young band overflowing with ideas and confidence.
Pressed on blood red w/ black spinner effect heavy vinyl. Side B contains no music but features a white screen print. Comes with a 2-page 12"x12" insert and a download card.
"All Christianity Ends" is a brutally-focused reminder that while the infamous Finnish Black/Death Metal legends continue to evolve, develop and even 'refine' their hellish sound over recent full-lengths, the elemental building blocks of classic ARCHGOAT remain sequenced in their DNA.
An essential companion piece to "Worship the Eternal Darkness" and a natural continuation of 1993's "Angelcunt" EP, Ritual Butcherer (guitars/composition) and Lord Angelslayer (bass/vocals) here vomit forth with the magickal energy, raw guttural power and bowel-churning savagery to which we've become accustomed since the band’s 1989 formation.
4 bludgeoning, inimitable new tracks to reaffirm that oldest adage: you can never have enough ARCHGOAT.
E-L-R's sophomore full-length "Vexier" oscillates elegantly between velvet darkness and flaring bursts of high energy. The style of the Swiss has been dubbed 'doomgaze' and 'post-metal' and both terms apply loosely to the trio's meandering, down-tempo doom-epics. E-L-R's hypnotic phrases that are constantly varied and warped in repeating loops are reminiscent of shamanic rituals imbued with psychedelic colours. The trio weaves a subtle tapestry with diligence and persistence that depicts a labyrinth full of intricate details and hidden treasures.
After a period of smoldering dormancy Vanum reappears, blazing and alive, with their third full length album, Legend. Continuing the triumphant march of previous works, but raising the stakes even higher, Legend finds Vanum both expanding and refining their approach, and in turn delivering their most fully realized recording to date.
Professionally duplicated tapes with vintage print, full-color cover on haptic card stock, and a designed download card for the digital album.
On “Crepuscular Dirge For The Blessed Ones”, sole mastermind Gabriele Garmaglia continues the COSMIC PUTREFACTION narrative begun on the previous album “The Horizons Towards Which Splendour Withers”, where the only survivor from an apocalyptic annihilation of a dying planet walks towards its withered horizons. On “Crepuscular Dirge…” this character ultimately finds an even more sorrowful truth at the end of his journey; one that shows the empyrean fall of man through the metaphysical world and the gods whom inhabit it.
Through “Crepuscular Dirge For The Blessed Ones”, Gramaglia establishes even more his own vision of death metal, this time enriching his multifaceted sound with widened atmospheres and a patina of omnipresent melancholy suggested by distant arpeggios, e-bow guitars and sometimes even synths organically blended with the relentless, ferocious riffs always present in this new effort. To cap off this layered effort, Gramaglia this time relied on drummer Giulio Galati (Nero di Marte, Hideous Divinity) to deliver an extremely powerful and dynamic performance behind the kit.
TRISTITIA Biography 1992-2020
The band was founded by Chilean/Swedish guitarist Luis B. Galvez 1992, Halmstad, Sweden. His devotion for Doom Gothic Metal and dark sorrowful melodies brought him to form the band with Death/Gothic style vocalist Thomas Karlsson (Pagan Rites, Devil Lee Rot, Autopsy Torment) and Harri Juvonen(Pagan Rites) on bass.
They recorded their first demo in April ’93 entitled ”Winds of Sacrifice”. In January ’94 they released their second demo ”Reminiscences of the Mourner”. The receiving of this demo was even better than ”Winds of Sacrifice” and gave Tristitia a record deal with the French label Holy Records summer 1994. In march ’95 Tristitia released the CD album "One with Darkness" now with Bruno Nilsson behind the drums, Thomas on vocals and Luis recording all guitars, bass and keyboards,
Summer ’96 they recorded their second album ”Crucidiction” now with session drummer Alessio in Dan Swanös studio Unisound which was released December ’96. Tristitia’s third album ”The Last Grief” brought the band a new atmospheric Dark Doom Heavy Metal singing style with session singer Rickard Bengtsson from the Swedish band Last Tribe and with mixed doom riffs/classical guitar parts Tristitia found a new path beyond the labyrinth of Darkness. At the fall 2002 the band entered Darkside Studios in their hometown Halmstad to record their fourth CD ”Garden of Darkness” with session Death style vocalist Stefan Persson. Due to line-up difficulties between 2002-2017 the former member Luis B. Galvez now in the Mexican black/thrash/death metal underground label Atolinga Records in 2017 re-released Tristitia's two demos "Winds of Sacrifice" (1993) and "Reminiscences of the Mourner" (1994) on CD entitled "Lamentations from the Beginning" and could finally release in January 2020 the full-lengh album "Burial of the Sad" with Thomas Karlsson back on vocals. Tristitia is the word in Latin for sadness.
