Combining the talents of present and past members of Anorexia Nervosa, Seth, BÂ’A and Diablation, this harbinger of the aether marries the raw, unfiltered essence of 90s black metal with the enigmatic lore of its ancestral land - France.

‘Devant la porte des étoiles’ is a portal, cast from the ancient stones of primordial rites and cosmic despair. This GRAVENOIRE debut, forged in the live crucible of rehearsal chambers untainted by modernity's corroding touch, channels the unsanctioned, unbridled energies of realms both spectral and telluric. From the inaugural summoning rites of the instrumental “Pavens” to the devotional desolation of “Granit”, each track serves as a tome, inscribed with the ink of rebellion, mysticism, and the unquenchable thirst for transcendence. GRAVENOIRE invites the listener to tread the forgotten paths beneath the starlit dome, to reunite with the ancient forces that pulse in the earth's hidden veins.

Created in close cooperation with the band, this re-release features remastered sound (done by bassist Devo Andersson), detailed liner notes, unpublished photos, revamped artwork by Death Wolf vocalist Maelstrom and bonus material on the CD version: a cover version of “Samhain” (originally by pre-DANZIG punk outfit SAMHAIN) and all three tracks from the “Obedience” EP (2000). Expect nothing but perfect extreme black metal pleasure!

The original line-up of the band has reunited after more than twenty years to kick some ass and dominate. In true black love, they are once again signed to the renowned Osmose Productions label and offer you nine brutally hellish, blasphemous black terror tracks of the bizarre kind for 40 minutes.
The anthems of hate and contempt were recorded and mixed at the infamous Rambado recording studio. Incredibly powerfully mastered by the fantastic D. Koehne, the new songs promise pure glorious ecstasy.
With this release they are taking a completely new path with their bizarre art paired with the inimitable chaotic style of years past. The next extraordinary artwork was designed by the fantastic artist MorphArts and shows in his art the clear demarcation from everything known from this and past days.
