The traditional three year wait is over, and Hoest has now completed the sixth Taake album.

"Stridens hus" takes the unique Taake sound and develops it further.
Still true to the spirit of the old Norwegian Black Metal, Hoest breathes new life into the genre by introducing different elements that ensure the sound remains fresh and relevant. Some parts are more groove and rock orientated, whilst some have a distinctly punk attitude. However, this is still unmistakably Taake and, as always, we're treated to a varied album with intense, unique and unpredictable dynamics.

“Et Hav av Avstand" is the 8th full-length studio album from the legendary Norwegian Black Metal band Taake.

It consists of four songs clocking in at 42 minutes, displaying some of the finest songwriting yet from this epic one-man band.

Fierce, but melancholy. Vigorously old-school but also progressive. retaining that unfiltered sense of unique rawness that is synonymous with Hoest’s charismatic sound and musical identity.

Taake still manages to stay relevant and at the forefront of the genre and Hoest, who plays every instrument on the album, has ensured that the album is imbued with the unique Taake sound whilst at the same time developing it further.

This is unmistakably Taake, and as always, an intense work that surprises and enthrals.

Originally released as a picture disc only “Totentanz” is re-issued via Back On Black on all formats. Totentanz (Dance Of The Dead) was recorded live on December 12th, Essen Germania 2001.

This compilation includes the only self-titled demo of the band from ’91 when they still played dark death metal, the infamous self titled EP from ’91 and 2 rehearsal-songs from ’92.
