Cigno is an emerging artist from Rome, delving into the depths of dark ambient, industrial, and ritualistic music. Drawing inspiration from ancient traditions, somber atmospheres, and the emotional landscape of grief and mourning, Cigno crafts a soundscape that is both haunting and captivating.
"Morte e Pianto Rituale" is Cigno's debut album, a work steeped in the themes of death and ritual mourning. The album weaves together layers of deep ambient sounds, atmospheric drones, and percussive elements to create an immersive experience. It stands as a meditation on the solemnity of death, the cycles of loss, and the catharsis found in ritual. Each track builds an evolving soundscape, incorporating elements like field recordings, drone tones, and tribal percussion. Cigno's music invokes an almost cinematic quality, resembling a sonic ritual that guides listeners through the emotional states of grief, introspection, and release.
The ten tracks on the album struggle to fit into the category of pop music and even more so they shy away from the commonly understood song form. “Nada! Nada! Nada!” it is a complex ecosystem where disturbing trip rock coexists with ethnic impulses and mystical moments. Heartbreaking screams punctuated by hypotonic percussion loops, industrial suites full of saturated distortions are then alternated with diabolical chants. Almost a sound psychoanalysis of contemporary society, almost the soundtrack of a Dante's song. CIGNO increases the dose with visionary texts, where he paints frescoes of contemporaneity between a socio-political and economic criticism of the West, up to ascetic verses whispered and sung recited.
Anarchic and against the current, CIGNO's artistic proposal also passes through the cover which symbolically depicts the heretic. The engraving represents the symbol of the human condition.

Sounding overall powerful and sublime, “The Scythe of Cosmic Chaos“ electrifies with courage and creativity. This abysmal adventure, garnished with a mind blowing artwork by Ola Larsson, covers all facets of Death Metal and breaks new ground at the same time.
Time flies and it's hard to realize 5 years has already passed since the last MANII output; the fantastic and uneasy Sinnets Irrganger. The bleakness of that album is a rarity and it's still an album I keep going back to in the darkest days and moods of the year. Make no mistake: Innerst i Mørket continues right where they left off, but that said, this time the music is even darker, though with a bigger sound contributed by the eminent drummer V. Enride behind the kit, better known from WHOREDOM RIFE and SYNING, to mention a few. As always, MANII delivers severely dicomforting and haunting music, something Cernunnus is an absolute master of as one might know from his other projects like MANES, SYNING, LETHE and more, again completed with some of the most impressive vocals I've heard in years by Sargatanas(old MANES). I dare say this is their best release to date, and you can quote me on that.
