It was but the very beginning of 2022 when THE MIST FROM THE MOUNTAINS released their momentous debut album, Monumental - The Temple of Twilight, through PRIMITIVE REACTION. The record was presciently titled, too: hailing from the ever-fertile Finnish scene, THE MIST FROM THE MOUNTAINS were a brand-new formation with a very old heart, with their chilling-yet-breathtaking ruminations harkening to the golden days of melodic, nature-inspired black metal back during the mid '90s. Names invoked included old Borknagar, Kvist, Old Man's Child, Norway's Gehenna, and even earliest Dimmu Borgir, but on the songwriting strength across Monumental, these still-young Finns were well on their way to forging an odyssey all their own.

Dimbild emerged as an semi acoustic side project of the renowned musician Vintersorg in 2022, embracing the folky side of his journey in its full context and keeping the intense metal compositions associated with the main act outside. It’s something that has been growming for years but in 2022 it came into its own shape.
Departing from the relentless energy of metal, Dimbild has a more subdued and introspective approach to music-making.
The project allow Vintersorg to explore a different facet of his artistic expression, delving further deeper into the realms of folk and acoustic music with a hint of melancholy woven into its fabric.
Drawing inspiration from nature, mythology, and existential themes, Dimbild’s music transports listeners to otherworldly landscapes where emotions intertwine with the sounds of acoustic guitars, percussion, and the trade-mark vocals of Vintersorg. The name “Dimbild,” which translates to “dim image” or ” Illusion” in English, encapsulates the project’s enigmatic essence, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in its atmospheric allure.
The semi-acoustic arrangements provides a platform for Vintersorg’s evocative storytelling and introspective lyricism to shine, resonating with listeners on a deeply personal level. Dimbild incorporates elements from various musical traditions and experimenting with different sonic textures. It solidifies its place as a compelling force in the realm of acoustic music.
As a result of Vintersorg’s continous journey to explore new musical horizons, Dimbild is a testament to the creativity and artistic depth of its creator, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of acoustic music. Buckle up for a unique blend of scandinavian melodies and ethereal atmospheres with a touch of epicness.
"Through Sun and Stone'' covers the topic of loss and fate in a stoic approach. The mythology of "The Three Fates" Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos guides the album into a humble, concise journey through loss, grief and life beyond death. Following the loss of a close friend, Abyssielle evokes on this album a world beyond the grave on a cosmic level, beyond the conflict and strife of our current world. Ethereal nuances, black metal soundscapes and pulsating post-punk bass lines create the balance between melancholy and intensity.
