Back in stock - Extreme Metal and Dark music
For the last two decades, Portuguese Black Metal have been carving its unhallowed dagger in the heart of the Underground with a myriad of entities devoted to the darkest, most ignominious edges of such Sacred Art. One of the most emblematic and infamous hordes spawned from that cluster of void were satanic mercenaries Infernüs. Handling its heinous path for almost 20 years, the group have summoned an array of demos dating back to the early 2000s, vicious onslaughts that hatched a cult status to the band and left a trail of chaos and destruction in the cauldron of the Underground of said times. After a last 2007 recording and a series of memorable live rites, Infernüs vanished towards an unfathomable slumber, a silence which left a cloud of uncertainty on the minds of devotees of the group’s malignant fire and one which in 2016 ceased to persist after an astounding return, on a special occasion. Emerging from the infernal pits of Hell, Infernüs engraved its trail of blood and putrid flesh at the Invicta Requiem Mass I, a distinct ritual with fellow Portuguese nefarious ensemble Mons Veneris. Recorded for posterity, the ceremony cast on a bleak October night in 2016 was a memorable primeval assault which presented the band in full strength with its imperial blast of madness and diabolical fervor for delight of a pack of rabid adherents under the spell of its infernal hounds. During the 45-minute strike, the Portuguese titans have gathered a roast of new anthems of satanic fanaticism and dreadful hymns from the dark past that painted the walls in blood and brought forth the fire and death worship of pure unprecedented sacrilegious might. The blast of every expelled word endorsed a frenzy of devilish and chaotic possession from the blazing crowd, a reaction and assent that attested the charisma of the arrangements, combined with a rhythmic display of power and skill, the dynamic backbone to such psalms’ strain and potent edge and one which is here captured with outright power and vibrancy. The ungodly hymn Cristo em Chamas stands as a highlight of an infernal performance and evening of boundless, blasphemous Black Metal, a profane sermon attesting the strength and craft of the Portuguese scenery and one of its most charismatic forces. Released on a joint conspiracy between Harvest of Death and Purodium Rekords on a 12” LP edition, limited to 300 copies (100 white vinyl, 200 black vinyl), Live at Requiem Mass I stands as an uncanny testament to the revenge of the bloodlust behemoth Infernüs, a night of absolute worship to the Black Arts, carved for the next thousand years of darkness and ruin.

HERETICAL SECT is a reclusive collective fixated on the physical and spiritual genocides of the Southwest.
The Southwest; represented through a nostalgic lense of cowboy culture, rarely exposes the most brutal atrocities of American history. Churches chained shut and lit on fire with the congregation inside, severed limbs piled in the streets, and disease and slavery are burned into the memory of the landscape. These horrors are sonically juxtaposed against the natural beauty of the high desert. Expansive skies, deep canyons, painted red rocks, all witnesses to untold butchery and grief.
HERETICAL SECT features members of other prominent Santa Fe (NM) bands, yet members remain hooded and anonymous. Although the band rarely appears live, it is a primary conceptual entity for its members. May all life learn to die.

On their debut album "Aegis", FLAME, DEAR FLAME have erected a truly distinct sound, characterized by the stirring performance of vocalist Maren Lemke, whose simultaneously airy yet powerful voice fuses with the memorable riff craft on display to create 7 towering tracks that are sure to capture the ears of listeners eager to hear an innovative take on a genre that too often conforms to stereotypes.
"Aegis" is a work thematically divided into two parts. The first part, entitled "The Millennial Heartbeat", details the genesis of the ocean and the thanatography of the land, a testimony of the forces of nature and its frailty alike, performed in three movements and featuring a classical epic doom approach, rife with gargantuan riffs and percussion as well as soaring clean vocals, yet interspersed with thoughtfully placed and paced clean sections. Serving as a contrasting and complementary second part of the album, "The Wolves and the Prioress" consists of four movements focusing more on acoustic folk elements, further enriching FLAME, DEAR FLAME's engrossing sound, and details the story of a feral child that falls into the custody of a sage prioress.
All of these elements result in a unique combination of righteous doom and subtle, yet noble acoustic folk. Each track is accompanied by a visual representation composed by Karmazid. The culmination of the album’s visuals is its stark cover artwork, laden with elegant symbolism in rich detail, created by Kodex Barbaricus.

Winterlong, the psychedelic new album from Executioner’s Mask is set for release on Profound Lore Records. An epic bouquet of swelling synths, hypnotic melodies, and noisy guitars marry post-punk and shoegaze in ten songs exploring themes of liberation and self-destruction in these end-times. In the studio, the core group of Gambit, Mickle and Wilson added Christian Molenaar into the fold on synths, adding an ethereal edge to the band’s hard-driving melancholy. Additional touches were added by Kennedy Ashlyn (SRSQ) and Jake Superchi (Uada, Ceremonial Castings), their distinct sonic fingerprints sending the compositions further into territories unexplored.
Featuring production from Jeff Zeigler (The War On Drugs) and Ryan Schwabe (Oneohtrix Point Never), Winterlong is the type of sublime and immersive album that inspires the same visions often conjured by masters like The National, Alcest and Deerhunter. On stage, Gambit, Mickle, and Molenaar are joined by Anthony Charletta on bass, Melissa Lochambon on drums, and Daniel Gaona on guitar to create an explosive force of sound that come together with the potency of Children Of God-era Swans.
Expanding on the kaleidoscope of ambition, expect to see re-mixes of the album released in a series of their own by an ensemble cast that features members of Deafheaven, Full Of Hell, No Joy, Xiu Xiu, and The Armed amongst an army of others. The first of these Winterlong re-mix albums will be released as a bonus disc that will come with the CD release, mastered by Angel Marcloid (aka Fire-Toolz).
