"On Earth" Live in Paris
SHADOW RECORDS (distributed & marketed by REGAIN RECORDS) is proud to present LIFVSLEDA’s debut EP, Manifest MMXIX, on CD, 12” vinyl, and cassette tape formats.
LIFVSLEDA was spawned to earthly existence with the aim to recapture the old feeling of early Nordic black metal - a scene the members, in one way or another and in various constellations, have been involved with since its glorious beginning. With a strong fascination with death and the magic of memento mori, they summon the spirits of old, unleashing four songs of death-worshiping Swedish black metal. Recorded on broken instruments, literally out in the wild, surrounded by the Swedish woods and a creeping darkness, you can feel the rotten stench and presence of something great that once was.
With LIFVSLEDA’s Manifest MMIX black metal is reborn.
Exclusive CD version limited to 1000 copies packed in:
-cd mini gatefold, printed on uncoated paper
-printed inner sleeve on uncoated paper
-4 page booklet with lyrics
Keeping consistent with the strident foundation laid forth by their debut EP, LIFVSLEDA’s Det Besegrade Lifvet features nine tracks of wild, raw, and absolutely brilliant black metal in the vein of the early Nordic scene. Once again partly recorded out in the woods, in uttermost isolation, during the ongoing plague, you can truly feel the atmosphere of this album, and the stench of something old and rotten that has been dug up and resurrected. And despite it being the band's debut album, Det Besegrade Lifvet evinces an ancient wisdom, an archaic splendor wrought from turbulence and times of conflict.
For nearly a decade now, selfsame mainman Wulkanaz - mastermind Wagner Ödegård (aka Komulonimbus) - has pursued a singular, idiosyncratic vision of black metal across myriad demos, EPs, and splits. WULKANAZ's three albums to date, however, have been become cult classics among the diehards brave enough to behold the mainman's visions, and those visions have reached a fever pitch with the band's new self-titled album.
4 panel digipak CD with 12 page booklet.
Infused with the same spirit as the preceding EPs, with Into the Wild VOODUS has honed their craft to its most fierce and finessed essence. This record is indeed a wild and winding ride through the murky depths of starkly melodic yet crypt-pure black metal. Their sound is staunchly rooted in the 1990s - with ice-cold melodies racing across the searing surge of black metal – but breathes a refreshing sense of dynamics and pacing. VOODUS does not engage with the blast-a-thons of old, the indiscernible blur of one song protracted over 30-plus minutes. Instead, the quartet unloads expert compositional variety here, with memorable melodicism constantly at the forefront - all of it framed in a clear and cutting production courtesy of the esteemed Necromorbus Studio. And it's a truly epic experience clocking in at 61 minutes, allowing the listener's wanderlust to truly run wild.
